Ben Bajarin and Benedict Evans will record the fourth episode of The Cubed Podcast later today. I’m certain it will be excellent.
I myself will not join this recording, nor will I going forward except as a guest.
When the idea of Cubed was originally proposed, I immediately jumped; after all, who wouldn’t be honored to join the both of them on a podcast? And, as I expected, Cubed has already been very successful, and I’m sure it will continue to be so. However, upon reflection, my personal priority list starts with my family, moves to my work with Automattic, and then to this blog. While I enjoyed recording Cubed, I also believe in focus and doing my best work, and that doesn’t scale much past three, at least for me, at least for now.
This isn’t the end of the road for me on the podcasting front; I’ll still appear as a guest on various shows, and have ideas on what might make sense for stratechery in both the near and short term. In the meantime, though, I’ll simply be a listener and a learner of Cubed, not a host.
My thanks to both Ben Bajarin and Benedict Evans for the opportunity.
